my ever changing slice of the internet

Welcome! This is mostly a place for me to mess around with different web technologies, show off some stuff I did, and hopefully learn something. If you came here hoping for baby pictures or a personal weblog you'll have more luck checking my Facebook page. Enjoy this page or check out my experimental navigation page if that sounds like more fun (doesn't work too well on Android yet).

Here are some of my favorite hikes, bikes & runs. There are some maps there. Eventually I may add more routes and descriptions, but don't hold your breath.

also

well, let's see. There's a really awesome geospatial consulting group starting up over at CalSpatial. Also, if you're looking to host some of your maps online, I'd recommend checking out MapBox or CartoDB...or maybe the fabulous OpenGeo Suite. If you really want to get fancy just host your own GeoServer and style your data out through Leaflet. If you're some sort of GIS expert and you're looking to step up your game, you better take a look at GDAL. Maybe you just want to relax and think about some sports, well then I'd recommend The Basketball Jones podcast or Grantland. Finally, if you came here looking for information on birding, you're in luck afterall. Here are some links to content that I recently read and now recommend, and here's the RSS to my seldom updated blog (if RSS still exists post Google Reader).
